My Favourite Time of Year
Although we're told that the summer is all but over, the month of September has brought us some of the best and brightest days of the year so far! Couple that with the very first autumn colours beginning to appear in the trees, as well as the foggy and misty mornings, it's no wonder that this is an exciting time for landscape photographers and my personal favourite time of year!
One of my favourite aspects of this time of year is the appearance of hay bales all around the country. They are a quintessential icon of autumn and harvest. This field in Buchlyvie was one of the best I've been able to photograph.
After a great evening out exploring the countryside of Stirling looking for fields full of hay bales and enjoying the beautiful golden evening light as the sun went down, I raced along to Lake of Menteith just in time to catch the last glimpse of the sunset.
This month I also started to work on scouting locations for my next project - Autumn in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park! It's been a joy to get out exploring this amazing part of the country and I can't wait to see it explode with colour when autumn really sets in!
