My one-to-one workshops offer an intentionally flexible experience to meet your needs in finding a date, the subjects covered and help offered. Join me for a venture out with our cameras where I can talk you through my own personal approach to landscape photography in an informal and friendly manner and assist you with any problems you may face.

I loved the tips and tricks and opportunity to get immediate feedback on the practical aspects of my photography.

I offer my workshops in the diverse area of Perthshire and Tayside where together we can enjoy and explore the deep valleys and glens, forests and rivers, mountains and lochs - endless possibilities!

If you prefer to shoot another location from my portfolio we can try to put together a bespoke itinerary that encompasses everything you're looking for. Any workshops carried out further afield would incur an additional fee to cover travel and accommodation expenses; if you would like to arrange something more tailored to your needs please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your requirements.

People with any level of experience are welcome, from complete beginners, more accomplished amateurs who think they would benefit from another photographers perspective or you may just fancy having a day out!

Gavin is very patient, knowledgeable and driven by what the client wants to get out of the day rather than what he felt he should teach.

To ensure you get as much from the experience as possible I recommend a minimum of a digital SLR or Compact System Camera, a wide angle lens, a telephoto lens and a tripod. Your own set of filters will be a huge benefit as well but don't worry if you don't have any.

It is absolutely necessary that you dress appropriately for any weather conditions (we all know how notoriously unpredictable the weather in the Scottish highlands can be). You must remember that although we may be warm as we walk, we will then be standing around waiting for conditions to be right and I can tell you from experience that a chill sets in very quickly. You'll want several warm layers, waterproofs and sturdy footwear. A warm, dry set of clothes to keep in the car is never a bad idea.

If you haven't got time for a whole day of photography, why not treat yourself to a half day workshop! Typically, full days can last from 8-10 hours, or sunrise to sunset if requested.

I will be able to drive you around between locations although you will have to make your way to a mutually agreed meet up point.

Upon booking I will be in touch to establish what level of experience you have and what you aim to achieve during your chosen workshop. I'll be in touch nearer the time with final arrangements. Please note that due work and family commitments, I have limited availability and difficulty arranging trips at short notice. I look forward to shooting with you!

There was good communication via email before the day to ensure he understood what I needed from it and we certainly achieved everything I hoped for.

I would thoroughly recommend Gavin.
